Overhead Architecture DPC is an architecture office in New York that took form under the same roof as an artist-led construction company. By maintaining a close proximity to construction they imbue their work with a sense of pragmatism and material intelligence. Rather than focus on ideals floating overhead, they look to the immediate and preexisting conditions around them.
To express their vision, Overhead needed a place on the web to share their growing portfolio of work. We worked closely with their founder to develop a visual language and structure for the site which felt direct — spiritually connected to their approach to the art of building. We developed a lightweight brand identity for the firm using the Items typeface by Schick Toikka.
We developed a completely custom content architecture on Sanity CMS that supports the realities of sharing ongoing and built projects. We trained the Overhead content team on editing and updating content, ensuring a smooth handoff, and delivering a tool that equips them to continue to share their vision and projects on the web.
